The study involved comparing two groups. The control one, i.e., not practicing any form of physical activity, and the experimental one, which attended Nordic Walking trainings systematically 3 times a week for six months (72 hours).
Physical activity in the form of Nordic Walking has a definite positive effect on the overall quality of life of the elderly, as measured by levels of life satisfaction, optimism and depression. Health training classes in the form of Nordic Walking with a weekly frequency of 3x60 minutes and lasting 6 months bring positive changes to a person's psyche, increasing the level of satisfaction with one's achievements and reducing the level of depression, which is a common disease in the elderly. Therefore, the new recreational sport of Nordic Walking should be promoted as an effective means of improving the quality of life of the elderly.
