 This interdisciplinary article examines Nordic Walking from a cultural and performative perspective, going beyond its health and fitness benefits. The authors investigate how Nordic Walking interacts with space, place, and identity, analyzing how the act of walking with poles becomes a social performance embedded in landscape and community. Drawing on theories from performance studies, geography, and identity formation, the paper highlights how individuals use Nordic Walking to express belonging, reclaim outdoor spaces, and challenge conventional uses of the environment. It invites readers to reflect on the embodied experience of walking and the meanings we attach to movement in specific places.
