The effects of nordic walking training on blood antioxidant defence in patients with intermittent claudicatione
5 Apr 2025
Enhanced antioxidative protection can improve the condition of patients with intermittent claudication (IC). The goal was to evaluate changes in enzymatic and non-enzymatic blood antioxidant systems in patients with IC after a 12-week supervised Nordic Walking training. A 12-week supervised Nordic Walking training leads to the improvement of walking ability and blood redox balance by increasing enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant defence, resulting in a reduction in oxidative lipid damage.
