EFFECT OF NORDIC WALKING ON VENOUS FUNCTION OF LOWER LIMBS IN STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE
31 Jul 2024
The study attempted to answer questions about the effects of Nordic Walking on the lower limb muscle pump and the time of filling the veins with blood, and to investigate whether there were significant differences in the parameters discussed in Nordic Walking trainees compared with non-trainees. The study involved a group of 30 women (mean age 61.6 years). The study group consisted of 15 women from the University of the Third Age at the University of Wrocław, training Nordic Walking. The 15 control group, on the other hand, consisted of women working chronically in a sedentary position, in administration, and not engaging in physical activity. The results of the study indicate existing differences in the picture of the dynamics of blood outflow from lower limbs in women training and not training Nordic Walking, speaking in favour of the physically active group.
