Use of elements of Nordic Walking technique in rehabilitation
29 Mar 2025
The use of poles during gait therapy is aimed at, among other things:
1. Improving posture, especially in children with poor trunk muscle stabilization.
2. extending the body forward to activate the back extensor muscles.
3. Increasing trunk rotation, which is limited by orthoses that lock the pelvis.
4. maintaining the center of gravity during gait in an optimal position.
5. Mobility of the scapulae and shoulders (prevent forward extension of the shoulders and allow for scapular depression movement by increasing stabilization of the shoulder girdle).
6. track alternating movements.
7. improving concentration and attention.
8. improvement of motor coordination : eye-hand-leg.
9. Reducing increased tension in the upper limb by introducing repetitive, repeated movement.
